Language Assessment and International Credentialing in Second Languages

IISLE and the International Credentials for Languages Services (ICLS) work collaboratively with foreign and local governments and their agencies to offer students and the general public access to international credentials for their second language proficiency. Candidates can sit for international exams to certify their proficiency in: French, German, Japanese, Chinese (Mandarin), and Spanish.

The Japanese Language Proficiency Test (JLPT) is administered by the Prince Takamado Centre for Teaching and Research at the University of Alberta. Visit their website for more information.  

The Hanyu Shuiping Kaoshi (HSK) is administered by the Confucius Institute in Edmonton. Visit their website for more information.



Staff Language Proficiency Assessments

IISLE also provides language proficiency assessments for educational staff. Staff Language Proficiency Assessments are offered for American Sign Language (ASL), Arabic, Chinese (Mandarin), Cree, English, French, German, Hebrew, Japanese, Punjabi and Spanish.
